History

  The history of the department is closely linked with the development of our institution. In 2000, institute was established on the basis of Berezhany Agrotechnical College. At this time also Department of History of Ukraine and Political Science under the guidance of Candidate of Historical Sciences, Docent Pankiv B.N.starts its activity. Later, the department was several times renamed: the "Department of Humanities," "Department of Social Sciences." Since 2010 the department is headed by Candidate of Historical Sciences, DocentLuhovyiB.V.. In 2011, the number of the departmentstaffhas increased significantly due to merger of the Department of Social sciences, Ukrainian and foreign languages, physical education. Department was called the department of humanities.

  Teachers of department provide teaching of complete cycle subjects of humanitarian, social and physical orientation, approved by state documents for institutions ofagrotechnical profile. There are 12 teachers at the department, including 8 Candidates of science, 3 - Senior teachers, 1 - Assistant. Almost all teachers of the department are direct specialists of the subjects they are teaching.

  One of the priority areas of the department work are teaching and methodical work. Department staff make all complex of the work connected with the educational process. The department serves all specialties and of training areas at the institute. In general there are 19 disciplines in the following areas: Ukrainian kanguage, foreign languages, history, culture, philosophy, sociology, politology, psychology, education, jurisprudence and physical education. Regular teaching seminars, open classes, practice of teachers covisitingcontribute the effective teaching work. In recent years the department staff has provided teaching of most subjects with their own teaching tools.

A significant part in the effective work of the department is assigned to the research activities of the teachers. 8 employees of the department successfully get the title of Candidate of Sciences, and another two are working on their dissertation research. Each teacher conducts research and publishes the results in scientific and professional journals, as well as participates in conferences of various levels.

Teachers of the department work successfully in the field of education of today's youth. There are the series of educational activities on topical issues during the academic year. The department successfully collaborates with humanities and educational sections of the institute and similar institutions of the region in the educational activity.

The department builds its activity on the following principles:

• to equip future professionals with the knowledge of basic sciences of social and humanities cycles;
• to form their high culture of thinking, the ability to orientate in the ideological positions;
• to develop high lawful culture, courage, patriotism, sense of civic responsibility for active participation in the solving of the tasks of development, management and protection of the state;
• to educate the feelings of love to their own nation, deference to its history and culture, language and traditions, to consolidate national pride and self-esteem;
• to implant the respect to democratic social values ​​and ethics.

The main research theme of the department is: “The formation and development of the historical and cultural processes in Galicia in XIX-XXI century”. Research work of teachers of department is held on the next themes:

• Social and political and social and economic processes in Galicia in the ХХ century.
• The formation and development of historical, cultural and social processes in Galicia and in particular in Berezhany district for centuries.
• Spirituality as sustainable development of rural areas.
• The methodology of communicative competence formation of future agrarian by means innovative educational technologies.
• The establishment and development of the labor law of the European Union.
• Modern methods and technologies of foreign language teaching in agricultural universities.
• Foreign languages ​​teachingat secondary school (second half of the twentieth century).
